Mr Harry Clitherow is a Melbourne orthopaedic surgeon specialising in all aspects of shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist surgery. He is experienced in the evaluation and management of degenerative, traumatic, and sports-related conditions, along with upper limb nerve conditions, and has a keen interest in arthroplasty and arthroscopic surgery.
Upon graduating from the University of Otago, New Zealand, Harry undertook advanced training in orthopaedic surgery, and was awarded his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012. He furthered his specialist upper limb training completing fellowships with internationally renowned shoulder, elbow and hand surgeons in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
Harry is actively engaged in research to further patient outcomes. He has published a number of studies in peer-reviewed journals and has authored several book chapters. He has presented research and been a speaker at national and international orthopaedic meetings. He is an active member of a number of sub-specialist societies, and has public hospital appointments at Monash Health and Alfred Health. He is the Director of Registrar Training at Moorabbin Hospital, and is a supervising surgeon of Melbourne Shoulder & Elbow Centre’s AOA-accredited Clinical Fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.

Injuries and orthopaedic conditions are more than just results on your x-ray or MRI. As part of your assessment, Harry will discuss your goals and your personal situation (work, family, activities and lifestyle) with you to determine the treatment that will achieve the best possible outcome for you. Every patient is different, and the treatment offered to you will depend on your own unique set of circumstances. After your appointment Harry will communicate with your GP, physiotherapist or hand therapist, and any other medical practitioners involved in your care.
Harry accepts WorkCover and TAC patients, and he is happy to be contacted directly by referring doctors to discuss cases.

Paid undercover and open air parking is available and can be accessed from the St John of God Berwick Hospital entrance as well as the entrance to the Specialist Centre.
Ticket machines are located at carpark lifts and on the ground level of the main hospital and the Specialist Centre, in foyer Level 1, B1 & B2.
Machines accept credit cards and cash.
The hospital is a 10 minute walk from Berwick’s train station and is located on a bus route. Berwick Railway Station is on the Pakenham line.

They provide a brief overview of the topic, including the recommended initial assessment, investigations and treatment. They also outline the circumstances where Mr Clitherow would recommend the patient be referred to a specialist upper limb surgeon.
